About Jann

Jann is primarily a painter and sculptor, having had classic training in the ‘Arts.’ Graduating from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.

She moved to the Reno area over 40 years ago. After working for over 25 years in the Graphic Arts Industry, Jann left to pursue a Fine Arts Career.

Jann’s current focus and passion is in Suminagashi, papermaking and related natural fibers and book arts. Suminagashi is the ancient process of marbling plain paper with water and ink to transform it into something vibrant and magical. It originated in Japan as early as the 12th century.
